Grey Reverend)’.
“To Believe Remixes” is a carefully curated collection of tracks - featuring remixes and re-works made by some of The Cinematic Orchestra's favourite producers and artists, "It's one of the greatest privileges of a musician to invite artists who have inspired you to re-imagine your work".
Coming a year since 'To Believe' was released, the diverse selection of artists includes electronic producers Actress and Moiré, composer Kelly Moran, keyboardist Dorian Concept, cellist and vocalist Lucinda Chua, avant garde legend Fennesz and contemporary pianist James Heather to name a few, all providing their own personal take on “To Believe” album tracks. A posthumous Ras G remix of ‘Lessons’ also appears plus previously released remixes from Ghostly signed LA Harp innovator Mary Lattimore, legendary house producer Pepé Bradock and Anthony Naples.
Their first studio album in over 12 years, “To Believe” was released on 15th March 2019 on Ninja Tune with widespread acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, The Independent, Q Magazine, GQ, Bandcamp with The Observer lauding it as “a triumph” and “heartbreakingly brilliant” in their 5* review. The record debuted at #19 on the Official UK Album Chart and was #1 on the UK vinyl chart.
The Cinematic Orchestra - now comprising of founder Jason Swinscoe and long-time collaborator Dominic Smith - are set to headline London’s 02 Academy Brixton on the 22nd Feb with a brand new visual experience plus support from Heritage Orchestra, rising keyboardist and drummer duo JD Beck & Domi and Swiss band L'eclair on the night.
